Happy 93rd Birthday to the Empire State Building!

Last night, the Empire State Building partnered with Mercedes F1 and WhatsApp for an F1 takeover with driver Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff that included a dynamic light show and an activation down Fifth Ave.

ESRT hosted Urban Land Institute’s Spring Meeting at the Empire State Building on April 11. Dana Robbins Schneider, Senior Vice President, Director of Energy, Sustainability & ESG, and Timothy Dailey, Director of Engineering, gave a tour to highlight ESRT’s groundbreaking deep energy retrofit of the building.

Today, ESRT published its annual Sustainability Report that highlights its continued, proven leadership in environmental sustainability. “ESRT leads the industry in energy efficiency, sustainability, and healthy buildings with its forward-looking, science-based goals, practices, and measurements to reduce emissions and energy usage across our commercial and multifamily portfolio,” said Tony Malkin, chairman and CEO at ESRT. By working with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Empire State Realty Trust has replaced 6,000+ windows on the building, updated insulation, and made the switch to 100% renewable wind energy to cut emissions by more than half.
